Katie Nartonis

CURATOR (US)

Katie Nartonis is a curator, writer, filmmaker and design specialist. She is contributing art + design editor for SoCal Magazine where she writes about historically significant California artists and makers. Katie has worked in the 20th Century design departments at Heritage, Bonhams, Butterfields and LAMA (Los Angeles Modern) auction companies.

Nartonis has appeared as specialist in the documentary Wendell Castle: A Portrait and in the PBS series, Craft in America. In 2015 she produced the documentary film In Tandem: The Life and Work of Jerome and Evelyn Ackerman which debuted at Palm Springs Modernism Week. In 2019 she co-authored, edited and published the new book Jack Rogers Hopkins – California Design Maverick: master mid-century designer craftsman. She serves as the Vice President of the Sam and Alfreda Maloof Foundation for Arts and Crafts.
